Roots International Education Group and the Metropolitan International University College (MIUC), in collaboration with the Institute for Regional Studies, hosted a thought-provoking Dialogue Series on “US South Asia Policy under Trump 2.0” on December 13, 2024, in Islamabad. This event brought together policymakers, diplomats, and scholars, providing students with an exceptional platform to explore critical regional and international issues.
The dialogue examined Trump’s first-term policies and their implications for South Asia, focusing on opportunities for Pakistan in trade, education, and innovation. Esteemed speakers included Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, Capt. Wade Thames (U.S. Embassy), Ambassador Maciej Pisarski (Poland), Dr. Hassan Abbas (NESA Centre, Washington D.C.), journalist Zahid Hussain, Anssi Cullberg (Finland Embassy), Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and Ms. Riffat Fatima (Embassy of Portugal). The session was moderated by Mr. Faisal Rehman.
The event was attended not only by students from Roots International and MIUC but also by university students from across Islamabad, fostering a diverse and vibrant intellectual environment.
