Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) is Pakistan’s popular qualification for 16 to 18 years old. It is recognized by leading universities and employers not only in Pakistan but also in abroad. The Higher Secondary School Certificate, also known as HSSC, is a public examination taken by students of Intermediate college Junior college in Pakistan, after finishing Matriculation in grade IX and X, the students 17 to 19 years in grade XI and XII take the Higher Secondary examination. The Higher Secondary Certificate is subdivided in Science and non-Science programs. The students concentrating in Science programs are awarded Faculty in Science (F.Sc.) in which the students choose their Pr-Engineering, Pre-medical and Computer Science (referred as Science General) Programs. For students who want to pursue their career in Social Sciences and Humanities HSSC provides Faculty in Arts (FA) which is a holistic approach of all the contemporary social sciences subjects.

The major subjects which are taken in Faculty in Science (F.Sc) are Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics English and Computer Science while others are awarded Faculty in Arts (F.A.) certificate. The Students concentrating on business subjects are awarded Intermediate in Commerce (I.Com). The Higher Secondary Schools are Junior colleges or Intermediate colleges in Pakistan.
